Killing Animals – Unethical and Immoral

Man has forever hounded animals. Early man hunted animals for food and then later, for the animal’s fur to keep warm and stay alive in the winter. While the actions of early man were justified, the actions of modern man are just unacceptable and completely uncivilized.

Modern man hunts and kills animals for sport, recreation and for cosmetic reasons. Man has hunted Unusual species of animals to extinction. If any animal has the misfortune of having thick, lush fur, chances are that man has hunted and killed it to make coats with its fur. If this senseless killing continues then one day man will have destroyed all animal life on earth, and in the process brought about his own destruction. The time now is critical for Plus Pets. Action has to be taken today and now!

Gorillas, bears, seals, wolves, whales and dolphins are regularly hunted and killed for either fur or meat.

What makes this unethical and immoral is the way these creatures are hunted and killed for Movie Cult. What also makes this so senseless is that all of these creatures are killed, not because there is any necessity or solid reasoning, but because their meat is fancied by a few people and their fur makes for great coats and hats.

Sometimes, animals just get caught in the crossfire by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. In Virunga National Park, Congo, ten gorillas were killed in 2007. The reason why this made news was the fact that these gorillas were not killed for their skin or for meat. They were just trapped, slaughtered and left behind. Investigations showed that the killings were just a tactic to create a diversion from the illegal and illicit activities of trafficking of a mineral from the area. These gorillas were just killed and left behind so that all attention would be diverted to them and the smuggling of the mineral could go unchecked. This is yet another classic example of man’s greed and the senseless killings of these fine animals.

The old tradition of wearing bearskin hats by the Royal Guard during ceremonies like Trooping the Color and the Changing of the Guard, have meant that many bears in Canada are hunted every year for their fur. These bears are enticed with food and then shot dead in cold blood while their cubs are left behind, defenseless and without any protection. Attempts have been made to replace bearskin hats by fake fur hats. Wearing bearskin hats is purely symbolic. Nothing changes if the hats are replaced by fake fur hats. Surely a tradition like this can be changed without any delay or debate. These are the cases where man has to put his foot down immediately and say no to more killings.

The seal trade! Blood and mayhem every year. Baby seals are clubbed to death. Video hosting sites are full of footage of seals being clubbed to death and then skinned. The chilling fact is that many of these seals are skinned alive. Every year between 90,000 and 1,00,000 seals are killed for their fur. And they are all killed in the same brutal and barbaric way. They are clubbed to death and even before they die they are skinned alive. There has been an international outcry against seal hunting. More people need to come out and voice their opinions against this terrible trade. Hunting animals for their skins should be stopped in every country.

There are other cases where animals have survived the carnage and are no longer on the endangered list. The gray wolves of Idaho are such creatures. They were on the endangered list a while back and have now successfully bred and survive in the wild. But the irony of the situation is that because they have been delisted as being endangered, the hunting of these animals has begun once again. The argument offered is that the numbers of the gray wolves have grown substantially to a point where livestock and people are in danger from them. The simple truth is they are once again being hunted for their fur.

Whales And Dolphins

Japan has earned the dubious and notorious distinction of being the largest killer of whales and dolphins in the entire world. Whales are large mammals, the largest of all mammals, and are intelligent and highly evolved. They have a highly developed sense of communication that is almost unparalleled in the animal kingdom. In fact, their communication abilities are so astounding that in some cases it has been noticed that their high pitched vocalizations appear to contain many aspects of a language.

Dolphins are even more evolved creatures. Dozens of studies on dolphins have shown that they have a language of their own and are very intelligent creatures. Dolphins have always had a special bond with man, and there have been many instances of dolphins rescuing people from the sea and from predators.

These intelligent creatures are hunted in Japan. They are killed by the hundreds and thousands. The way they are killed is brutal and barbaric. No modern country should behave in this way and condone this type of killing. Dolphins are massacred every year in a town in Japan called Taiji. Hundreds of dolphins are herded into a small cove and are then literally bludgeoned to death. The scene of the carnage is so devastating that the entire water runs red with the blood of the dolphins.

These dolphins are massacred because their meat is sold as whale’s meat which is very popular in Japan. The desire for whale meat has meant the end for thousands of whales. Whales have been hunted to the point of extinction in Japan because of the popularity of the meat. Hunting whales is no less pleasant than the hunting of dolphins. Whales are chased for long distances until they get tired and cannot swim. Then they are harpooned and dragged onto waiting boats. It takes a long time to kill a whale because of its size and the whales die a long and agonizing death. They are literally cut alive when they are hoisted onto the boats after being impaled with harpoons. These gentle giants of the ocean are being hunted down with a ferocity that will only lead to their extinction.

Man has to make a stand now. He has to stop all the killing or he will end up killing every animal on earth and upset nature’s delicate balance. Every single person is responsible to make himself heard and insist that killing animals is unacceptable!

  1. i hate what people do to animals! how can we be so cruel to something thats life is worth every bit as much as ours?!? we were brought into this planet- whether put here by a god or by evolving into what we now are- as equals. my fav. animal is the wolf and they are endangered. i want my great-grand children to be able to see a wolf without just having to read about it in a book! people say they are doing something but tghey aren’t! they couldn’t be doing less for our beloved planet!

  2. Thanks for this article. Some of those things you described could change now!
By the way, you should see The Cove if you haven’t already.
    Best regards,

  3. Uncivilized, stupid, not capable of any kind of mental, spiritual or emotional growth. That gorgon with the gun lying on the wolf – does he want a painting in the Lourve in Paris? He has the mentality of a sewer rat.

These people believe that the world revolves around them. Maybe a meteor will come crashing through their homes and destroy all the heads on the wall.

  4. Ultimate cruelty and inhuman, sadistic acting of people. This article can activate more people. Post it everywhere.
And after all, man amuse himself in sport hunting.Sick.

  5. Knowing of this brutality and keep silent is immoral too.
Involving in animal slaughter and massacre, men lost humanity and ethical norms. Kill unprotected because of
fur or sport or adrenaline . Abnormal. Everyone is responsible as humans are awareness, have conscience
    or this are empty attributes.

by Beka on Nov 28, 2009 at 3:16 pm

  6. Those who partake in the slaughter of beautiful, helpless animals, in opinion, are not right in the head. Seriously!
What kind of person must you be to do something like this; without a care or a second thought?! It’s ironic how I could feel the same about beating them with a club.

by Den on Nov 28, 2009 at 3:34 pm

  7. I have to call bull#$%. Yes, most of the killing you show on here just isn’t right, but you can’ lump all hunting into that. Just yesterday, my bro-in-law shot and killed a deer. He simply gutted it, took it back to the house, skinned it, and cut off the meat, which went promptly inside and prepared for storage until eaten. He wasn’t after fur, or some rush from killing. He did it for the same reason you all allow meat plants. For food.

by Scott on Nov 28, 2009 at 10:21 pm

  8. So you’re looking at all that destruction, and thinking to yourself. Man, we humans suck. What can I do to stop all of this? I’m just one person!
I’ll let you in on a secret. Its something that any of us can do, but the vast majority of us are too selfish to attempt. It requires very little effort and you actually save a good bit of money doing it. Want to know the biggest impact that any person can make on the planet?
    Don’t have kids.

Its amazingly easy. Just don’t do it. Opt for a guiltfree child-less life and take precautions with your romantic encounters.
We have so many people on the planet, its safe to say we’re not going to go extinct by lack of procreation.
Imagine removing an entire lifespan (or two or three, as some people often have many kids) and all its years worth of waste, energy use, food consumption and resource depletion.
Now imagine if numerous people felt the same way…
The ripples of effect just get larger. So spread the word… don’t have kids. Fight your brainless insticts to “preserve the amazing fantastic superawesomesauce that is your DNA” and really think of the impact you could have by making the biggest and easiest sacrifice to the planet.
Who out there is brave enough to put their foot down, and say “it ends here.”

  10. Dang! After seeing all these pictures I am starving. I love tasty animals! I think I am going to go drive my gas guzzling SUV to the grocery and pick up some dead carcasses.

  11. I think these pictures are pretty barbaric. I hate to see these animals killed like this….but on the other hand I love meat. I can’t get enough of it. Also my sister cooks good deer meat. Deer are over run in the state of Oklahoma and I am all for the hunters out there legally hunting. I wish I could have a huge deer in the freezer right now..but I am just a single female who doesn’t know how to hunt or cook deer like my sister. So for all you hunters that are out there looking for meat for your families..good for you and thanks for keeping Bambi from jumping in front of my car. Deer kill more people each year than bears or sharks!

  19. There’s a terrible whale hunt going on right now by the Japanese in the southern oceans of Australia.
They’ll kill some 900 Minke whales and 50 Humpbacks (an endangered species).
I wrote to Toyota telling them that as they’re a Japanese company, they really ought to make a public stand and deplore this barbaric cruelty.
They replied alright. None of their business this whale hunting stuff, but they really do care for the environment.
Please support the boycotting of Japanese products until Japan is forced to stop this barbarity.

  20. Not only am I tempted to go buy a hamburger(I notice no mention is made of cows, chickens or pigs as usual) now I want to have another baby.

by scott on Jan 12, 2010 at 3:36 pm

  21. As much as I agree with the fact that the killing should stop, the facts here are just wrong in at least one case.
Seals are rarely clubbed to death, they are shot in about 90% of the cases and the notion that they are skinned alive is idiotic. I would seriously question the mentality of anybody who even believes that.

by anthony on Jan 18, 2010 at 12:34 am

  22. The pictures of all those whales cut open is the hardest to look at. GO SEA SHEPARD!!

how could they kill those mammals??
so cruel.. i hope there’ll be a strict laws againts this brutal actions

  25. You got all wrong about the seal hunt.
Inform yourself better. PETA, Humane Society and all the others are all biased. We don’t skin seals alive, they are dead before, kill in a not-so-beautiful manner, but still the better one. It’s the fastest and painless way, cause their skull are like eggs. When they move after, it’s only reflexes.

    And don’t forget.
The meat you eat come from a animal. ALWAYS.
And if you don’t eat meat…
Well, don’t blame others for doing so. After all, there is the word “eat” in “meat”, and probably not for no reason.

By the way, the last picture you have post, it’s not japanese but innus people, know also under the name of… eskimos. It’s a traditional hunt, and even rarely kill one. When they do, they use it only for their sole purpose, they don’t sell it or kill it for fun, they eat it whole. They may hunt whales, but they probably have don’t more for them than many of the organizations fighting for animals right. Cause it’s their culture, it’s their way of life and they know since long ago that you need to respect nature. So don’t associate them with the industrial japanese who do it for profit.

To show respect to this great and proud nation of the north, I would ask you to remove the last picture, cause it may send biased information to the ones coming on your blog.

  26. I was meaning “done more for the [whale]” not “don’t more for the [whale]”
Sorry about the double post, but I was finding it needed correction.

by Zwein on Mar 2, 2010 at 8:43 am

  27. I cant believe what people r doing to theses helpless animals how would they like it if they were in those animals shoses. Those animals are moms, dads, brothers, sisters, family members and they also are gods creatures with feelings. And for no reason we are takeing life away from them for greedy unreasional pourpouses. THIS MUST STOP!!!!!!!!!!

by niki on Mar 15, 2010 at 11:45 pm

  28. Wow, some of those hunting methods seem cruel and barbaric.

Not all that different from abortion……….

by skunkbait on Apr 4, 2010 at 9:15 am

  29. The people who had killed the wolves, the seals, the bears, the dolphins, the whales, and the gorrilas need to get their brains fixed very soon. There is no need to kill those animals. Those animals should be alive insted of being dead. Those people are nothing more than a pair of mouse-brains.

  30. @ PDXpro

Retarded post. You really didnt think very far ahead there did you? If all the people with mind enough not to have kids, do not have them, what sort of genepool do you think we will have left in the world? The kind that are more inclined to procreate regardless of how they are raised later!

And gee, who do you think will be raising those kids?

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

by intellectual on May 4, 2010 at 3:02 am

  31. Addendum: Thankfully people that think along the ridiculous lines of ‘dont have kids to save the world’ will die out without the rest of us even having to do anything. Problem fixes itself.

by intellectual on May 4, 2010 at 3:03 am

  32. i hate those people who kills animals… i hate them, i wish those cruel people will be eaten alive by wild animals so they will know how it feels….

  33. Excellent article & heartbreaking photos. Definitely the kind that make any person with a conscience sick to his or her stomach. If any of you are wondering what you can do to help stop this kind of brutality & ignorance, consider giving donations to wildlife charities. I’ve been giving money periodically to Defenders of Wildlife for a few years now to help end or at least limit the hunting of the gray wolves in Alaska & Pacific northwest & they do a great job of getting the word out via YouTube & Tv/magazine ads. They also provide petitions to all their members to sign so that they can be forwarded to congressmen & various fish/wildlife depts who can actually stop or at least limit this kind of barabric behavior. So it’s definitely worth your time If you care about the critters like I do.

  34. “What makes this unethical and immoral is the way these creatures are hunted and killed for Movie Cult.”
What does the website “MovieCult” have to do with *anything*?

(And all you “animal lovers’…tell the natives still living in what little remote areas that are left in the world that they can’t hunt for food anymore. I reckon you would all rather see them starve. Bastards.)
